Chinese Debate Competition

If you ever noticed the previous posts, i've mentioned that i actually participated the Chinese debate class right? so, i joined the Chinese Debate Competition as well. It's just a school competition, but anyhow i gained A LOTTTTT, i mean really a lot.

Previously, i got like zero idea of debating, i've no experience before,  just went to classes for 3 times i guess, we just listen how is it gonna be from the trainers ( ex debater of UM ) teaching and explaining the skills. Never try never know. If not for this competition, i would not have such experience of debating. I would not have realized that this debating is so fun. Some of you might say law students would like to join a lot because they like to argue, but it's not true. When you argue and even persuade the opponents to agree with your stand, it requires so much effort as both sides are sticking to their opinion very firmly. You need to have different skills and way of questioning in order to make their points yours. It's like you have to turn around every single thing they mention.

It's so satisfying when you see your opponents could not utter a word ( but that seldom happen in competitions ), you can feel your words are powerful enough to shut their mouth.
It feels so mighty, so large !

But, getting right teammates is very important. Or else, you will not feel comfortable to work with them.. Everybody has their own strength and weakness, but the attitude itself that matters the most. :/ not gonna rant about it. blahhhh

Btw, we did 2 rounds, first we're on the negative, and supporting the stand, 以面包作为婚姻的基础比较稳定, which means marriage based on economic power is more reliable, compared to love. We lose 4-5, *sigh* i was suggested as one of the beast debater for that round, but lose to the best by 10 points. D:
Second round, we're affirmative, agreeing 整容可以改变人生, which means plastic surgeries do changes one's life. This was much better, better prepared. and wheee, we won ! 5-4. ( every rounds ended with 5-4, i'm serious *jawdrops*). and i was voted as the best debater for that certain round, i'm still happy though. It gaves me a recognition and motivates me to improve and go further with it. This makes me really elated. Although i receive no medals or trophy, but still i see improvement in myself and i'm happy with the changes i see. :)

I shall work harder. :)
